Who is karla of karla closets

Every couple of weeks, we'll be introducing you to a girl who's got more style in her pinky than most of us have in our entire bods—and isn't afraid to blog about it—in a new feature called Blogging Babes. She spills her style secrets, after the jump.

KD: It was inspiration really. I had become crazily addicted to several style blogs so addicted that I'd check every morning, afternoon, and night for updates and it sort of motivated me to give this blogging thing a try. KD: Not going to lie, I literally check out like 50 blogs a day, but I'd have to say my all-time favorites every since before my blogging days would have to be The Sartorialist and Stockholm Street Style.

The Swedish folks dress so well! KD: Hmm, the most expensive thing is probably my pair of foot-aching Louboutins. And although they're terribly uncomfortable, I've actually worn them quite a bit ridiculous, I know.

The least expensive items in my closet are probably all my thrifted men's shirts. When it comes to style blogs, you were one of the first. Not fitting the blogger mold came with its consequences, but I was okay with it, because it has always been more important to remain true to my vision than to chase popularity.

The Line by K is for cool girls. Cool girls who are fearless, courageous and beautiful. They do what they want, when they want. They're unapologetic, and what others think of them doesn't matter. Which artists and what aesthetics are you drawn to? I'm drawn to modern art mostly; expressionism and abstract expressionism.

If you made a playlist that embodies the brand, what 5 songs would you choose? Your personal style has always stayed true through the years, be it your color palette or the way you style your outfits. How would you define the way you dress, and who are your personal style muses?

I dress according to a mood or a visual reference I want to channel - whether it be a Helmut Newton photo, or a cheesy 90s film. I don't have any particular style muses, I just love women who have a very distinct look and carry it effortlessly.

We'll continue creating elevated basics, but also expand the TLK collection which consists of more exclusive, detailed designs: tap shorts made in heavy satins, silk jersey bodysuits, and lurex two-piece sets for the holidays.
