Can i feed seagulls

All species of gull are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act The law says it is illegal to capture, injure or destroy any wild bird or interfere with its nest or eggs, this includes Herring Gulls.

The penalties for disregarding the law can be severe. All owners or occupiers of buildings which have, or may attract, roof nesting Herring Gulls are strongly urged to provide the building with deterrent measures suitable to the individual building.

Seagull nuisance Many people who have gulls on or around their property find them annoying. The RSPCA believe that the Cornish gulls may be suffering from "Angel Wing" because they are being fed by the public who tend to offer the birds snacks like bread which is high in calories but otherwise of poor nutritional value.

They get aggressive, they attack and then cuz you gave them a reason to stick around they will then go looking for other food such as nesting bird eggs and babies, same with baby turtles!!!
